About Vapor Vix

Hello... I am Vapor Vix... And you are? lol JK

I'm 29 years old, originally born in Santa Maria, California and am currently living in Germany. As of  December I will officially be residing in the states (again) in Texas. My husband is in the US Army so as you can imagine we move a lot. Fortunately for us, Texas will only be our 2nd duty station and hopefully we will be there for quite awhile.

Anyways. I was also part of the US Army for 8 years.. First in the Army National Guard and then here in Germany I finished my 8 year contract with the Army Reserves. I wanted to stay in and make a career out of it (Hell, when my husband joined Active Duty I tried to join with him, but my new recruiter screwed me over for a new soldier instead of helping an "old" soldier switch from Reserve to Active, but I'm not here to complain.) The Military is in a huge downsize right now because we recruited so many  new soldiers for the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. So trying to switch from Reserve to Active is damn near impossible... Especially for a female soldier... They are only recruiting for mainly Infantry soldiers. Also, for the past 4 years I have increasingly worsening hip pain that my doctors cant seem to figure out whats wrong. So I got out of the Army after my 8 year contract and now I am just a housewife.. at least until we get back to the states and I can get a job again! lol

Anyways, so I started smoking cigarettes when I was around 17. Towards the end of my "Smoking Journey" I was up to 2 to 2-1/2 pack a day. I had been wanting to quit for awhile and it increasingly became more and more apparent. And I tried everything to quit: chantix, nicorette, wellbutrin, lollipops, gum.... God, there are so many ways nowadays that people tell you that you can quit... Cold turkey just didn't seem like an option for me. I believe that I have an addictive personality and that made it that much harder to quit. Oh, I even tried "Smoking Cessation Acupuncture"....... Have any of you tried that
option???? OMG!! lol I'm not very good with pain in general.... Half pierce my ears in
5 super sensitive places every week for 9 or so weeks.... Yeah... Not so much! I did that
once and decided that I'd rather keep smoking than go through that again. lol

About 2 years ago or so I had also tried switching to e-cigarettes. One of husbands' buddies told us about it and so we tried it... I HATED it at first...But we didn't know all that much about it back then and how there are so many different options to choose from and that we didn't have to stick with the crappy (in my opinion) E-Go pen e-cigarettes. So I continued
smoking cigarettes and wanting to quit but finding nothing that helped. Until, it seems like all of a sudden, the people in my husbands' unit started talking about "vaping" and laughing about how many people still smoked regular cigarettes and how many they had "converted" to vaping. So my husband learned more about it, mostly just from the people in his unit talking about it constantly and him watching them vape instead of smoke. Finally we decided that we would try it, after we had done a little more research on our own, as well. So Thursday I smoked the last cigarette of my last pack and stayed inside unless I was with someone else (I did not want to be tempted to buy another pack) and waited until Saturday morning. I rushed my husband out the door as soon as I knew
the little German Vape Shop was open and ran there to buy our first E-Go Electronic Cigarettes and some vape juice of our choice. From the day we bought the E-Go's I have not smoked since.... About weeks after I stopped smoking and started vaping, I went out and bought a pack of cigarettes while my husband was away for work and I knew he wouldn't know about it if I didn't tell him.. lol

Anyways, so I bought this first pack of cigarettes after quitting and I opened the pack and pulled out a cigarette... scrounged around in my car for that now "not needed" lighter and lit my first cigarette  in 2 weeks.... I took ONE drag and about puked... lol In 2 weeks of smoking the very fruity and delicious e-juice I couldn't stand the taste of a cigarette anymore.... After trying everything under the sun for smoking cessation I had FINALLY found the help I needed to quit.... VAPING. And the conviction that I had finally made the right move towards smoking cessation was only validated more when I upgraded
from my "crappy" E-Go to my Thor's Hammer Mechanical Mod. I could not believe it though... I had tried everything to no avail. And all of a sudden I could not STAND cigarettes anymore. And it was not only me that Vaping had helped... I started doing more research after realized my huge transition and found more and more stories that were
similar to mine. And I now want to do my part to help others switch to the cleaner, healthier way of living.... Vaping.

After I started vaping, I was able to ween myself off of the nicotine andnow my e-juice contains no nicotine whatsoever... Because for me it was not about the nicotine anymore... It was just about CLOUD CHASING... So I had switched from one BAD addiction to a more
healthy addiction of vaping gear and cloud chasing.

So I hope that by having this blog and with word of mouth from my readers, that it will join the others that have been converted in this cause.  So please, if you have questions or anything, about this then please feel free to comment and, of course, thank you for reading
and I hope I can help you, too!

P.S. Below I will post a picture of an explanation of almost everything that pertains to vaping and what the words mean... lol It helped me to understand it all a little better, so here it is.....
